The last post on Obama

Obama talked the talk about "CHANGE" & "HOPE" and McCain (who knew?) walked the walk by selecting Gov. Sara Palin, who does represent "change" and "hope".  

I will not update this blog anymore because I believe Obama will lose and no need to talk about Obama anymore.  They are faced with biggest political "checkmate" to deal with. Kirsten Powers' New York Post column summed it up very well:

The other potential trap is luring the Obama campaign onto the "experience" field. The early conventional wisdom says McCain's pick was boneheaded because it takes the experience issue off the table. But it seems that it has done the opposite: The importance of experience is the topic of the day. more Democrats complain about this, the more Republicans can turn it on them and say, "If you are so concerned about the amount of experience of the vice president, what about the top of your ticket?"

So long my readers...let's focus on Gov. Sarah Barracuda Palin and make sure she wins!!!

Barack Obama's spokesman says that Alaska governor Sarah Palin is too inexperienced to be vice president..Obama's Camp is so rattled by Palin they made fun of small-towns again. They can NOT bring themselves to call her Governor Palin. Or it could be that Obama is upset that she has better credentials than him.

Obama group is trying to silence Stanley Kurtz who is trying to find out Obama's connection to William Ayers. Kurtz has obviously hit a nerve.

Obama has lost 6 points in California. The Public Policy Institute of California released a new state poll (August 12-19, 1047 LV) showing Obama leading McCain by 9 points, a 6-point drop from the poll released a month ago.

Obama's VP wants to smack someone!

Joe Biden swung by the Pennsylvania delegation breakfast this morning, and he was in high form, Ken Vogel reports.

“If I hear one more time that [Obama] was 11 years old when I went to the senate, I’m going to smack someone," he said.

Biden also recalled having “hundred of thousands” of people at his announcement speech for his first U.S. Senate run, which would have been a lot in Delaware. Politico

Is Biden Obama's biggest gaffe?

The family of Joe Biden, who will be officially nominated as the vice presidential candidate of the Democratic Party's 'reform Washington' ticket with Barack Obama Thursday night, appears to be enmeshed in the same D.C. money game that Obama denounces.

Biden is symbol of everything that Obama has told us that he is going to "change". Specially watching Biden tonight at the convention, he was supposed to make the case why the country could be secure with Obama as commander in chief, and he didn’t. He didn’t even really try. Why did Obama selected him as his VP? hmmm.

Just watch this video and see how Biden boasts about his IQ. Maybe that's why Obama selected him, because of his IQ.

Obama needs UN lessons!

Obama again calls for UN Security Council to denounce Russia!!! It's embarrassing to see that Obama does not know that Moscow has a Veto power and this will not happen. This is the second time, in one month, he has called for UN to denounce Russia!! I guess his 300 foreign policy advisors have not taught him well.

Obama, geographically challenged:

Barack appeared on a screen at the end and didn't seem to know where he was. He said he was in St. Louis, when in fact he's here in Kansas City. Oh well, at least he got the state right.  Oops!

and what about Michelle tonight?

Michelle talks about leaving a powerful job for a "career in public service" — her current job as a $300k per year director of community relations for a hospital? That's public service? She works for a private entity. How is that public service?  oops!

Politico reports:

"Obama, after having some quality time with his new running mate, seemed to pick up the habit today at a post-church town hall in Wisconsin.

“If we can spend 10 to 12 billion dollars a month in Iraq, we sure as hell can pay 10-12 million dollars -billion dollars right here in the United States," he said, according to ABC's Sunlen Miller.
Realizing his Sabbath faux pas, Obama added: “I apologize by the way, I usually say 'heck,' especially after church. That sort of slipped out.”

Yes, he does like saying "heck" better ....well this is what he thinks about taxes:

“If you talk to Warren [Buffet], he’ll tell you his preference is not to meddle in the economy at all — let the market work, however way it’s going to work, and then just tax the heck out of people at the end and just redistribute it,” Obama said. “That way you’re not impeding efficiency, and you’re achieving equity on the back end.”

I'm a homeboy said Obama!

Where is Obama really from? and why can't he come clean about his background? Obama held a mega-fundraiser in San Francisco last weekend and he said some interesting things . 

Here is an excerpts from The Times of India:

"Not only do I think I'm a desi , but I'm a desi ," the San Francisco Chronicle quoted Obama as telling a mirthful crowd. "I'm a homeboy." Obama then went on to recall how when he first went to Occidental College, his first roommate was Pakistani. And in his dorm, he said with a laugh, "Indians and Pakistanis came together under one roof ... to cause havoc in the university." To applause, he said he became an expert at cooking dal and other ethnic dishes, though "somebody else made the naan."

Desi is a colloquial term of endearment commonly used by people from South Asia to distinguish themselves as immigrants, but I thought he was African American and not Asian, but he apparently sees himself more of a Asian? hmmm

Obama finally acknowledges his communist connections

Barack Obama's fierce attack on Jerome Corsi's best-selling book, "The Obama Nation," has backfired. He has been forced to confirm things he'd hoped would stay buried.  Obama, for example, for the first time has acknowledged that the mysterious "Frank" in his 1995 autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," is in fact Communist Party USA member Frank Marshall Davis, who during the height of the Cold War was investigated by both the FBI and Congress as a pawn of Moscow.

As we've noted, the late Davis was Obama's early mentor with whom he shared whiskey and rage while growing up in Hawaii. The militant black poet influenced the young Obama's decision to become a pro-labor community organizer and agitator in his hometown of Chicago.

Obama's God blessing to us! ha?

Nancy Pelosi introduced Obama at a San Fran fundraiser calling him, "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

According to the pool report, Obama followed that humble introduction with his own modest pronouncement: "I will win. Don't worry about that," he told the crowd of 1,300.  Source.

Humility and grace should be prerequisite of any nominee!  Remember when Hillary said the same thing to Katie Couric in her interview last year; "I will win, I am 100% positive".  Watch the video and see how arrogant she was and that cost her.

Obama's ads are full of half truths!

When an Obama TV ad claimed that the senator had "worked his way through college and Harvard Law",factcheck.org was a little skeptical. Obama's campaign provided only two examples: a summer construction job during college and his work as a summer associate at a big law school.

The senator who voted with Preident Bush 9 out of 10 times is faulting an opponent for voting with him 4 out of 10 times? hmmm..apparenly Obama is more in tune with Bush than McCain is. Strange times indeed.

The Real Obama is coming through

Finally the CBS news is seeing the light and admits the flaws in Obama's character they tried so hard to hide. Here is what they had to say about Obama today:

But if he is going to be anal about the small stuff, it may get ugly if he loses his composure about something important.

Obama has staked his claim by offering American voters a fresh voice and a strong sense of optimism about the future. When he was on the way up, he was the favorite son of the media, who heaped almost unprecedented praise on him. Now that he has all but secured the Democratic nomination, Obama has shown little patience for standard media practices, which can range from silly to stupid.

Obama has resented the media for treating him like a presidential candidate -- someone with a personal life, a family and a past. He had better get used to it. The pace is sure to quicken between now and Election Day.

Obama is just your typical politician

Obama's campaign is playing fast and loose with his bio, consider that a Spanish language ad says that Obama's father was an immigrant while a later one notes that Obama was raised by a single mother. These may not be mutually exclusive, but they do present a somewhat contradictory narrative. Obama's priority should be giving voters some clear picture of who he is. If he doesn't, it's not going to matter if they believe McCain is running for Bush's third term.

George Clooney & Obama: Blind leading the blind

Apparently 300 foreign advisors are not enough, now Obama is getting advise from George Clooney!

"George has been giving him advice on things such as presentation, public speaking and body language and he also emails him constantly about policy, especially the Middle East.

‘George is pushing him to be more “balanced” on issues such as US relations with Israel.

Since Obama is on vacation, there are not much gaffes to report (he is not talking to the media) ....well except his statement on Russia's invasion as I posted yesterday.

Why no one is asking Obama to recite the Quran again?

I will keep posting this again and again until we can find a reporter that will have a courage to ask Mr. Obama about this article in  New York Times, from last year (3/16/07)?

Snippy Obama!

My, my, my...he is benig snippy now toward the same media who made him to what he has become! Just cool it a little Mr. O:

Many are noting that when a Nevada reporter points out that Obama is hitting McCain for giving tax breaks to oil companies (he wants to reduce the corporate tax rate for all companies, not just that industry) and that Obama himself voted for an Administration-backed energy bill that did exactly that (while McCain opposed it) Obama responds that "I thought I was talking to you instead of debating John McCain, but I am happy to let you serve as his proxy."

Barack voted for Cheney's energy policy

Another big gaffe?? Obama can not even remember what he voted for.  At least now, its being reported in the media:

Barack Obama criticized Republican John McCain on Tuesday for taking a page out of "the Cheney playbook" on energy, overlooking his own support of oil-friendly policies that the unpopular vice president helped to craft.

Vice President Dick Cheney, a former oilman, early in the Bush administration helped draft an energy policy that Obama asserted is biased in favor of tax breaks and favorable treatment for big oil. Obama's remarks were an attempt to capitalize on Cheney's unpopularity. . . .

However, Obama himself voted for a 2005 energy bill backed by Bush that included billions in subsidies for oil and natural gas production, a measure Cheney played a major role in developing. McCain opposed the bill on grounds it included billions in unnecessary tax breaks for the oil industry.

Oops! Obama changed his mind again...

The "Change we can believe in" slogan, actually means the number of times Obama will change his mind until the election day. Here is the latest on the "change we can believe in": 

The new change:  Obama wants us to tap into National Oil Reserve to reduce the oil prices.

Brit Hume: "Obama started the year by selling hope, but now he’s selling audacity"

Dana Milbank of “The Washington Post”:   "Obama started out as the presumptive Democratic nominee, and now he’s the “presumptuous” Democratic nominee."

He did promise us that he is for CHANGE, and we are seeing exactly that.  His true colors are coming true!
